Deschutes County has the following 14 Airports: Bend Municipal Airport, Brothers Landing Strip, Central Oregon District Hospital Helipad, Cline Falls Air Park, D M Stevenson Ranch Airstrip, Fall River Airfield, Gopher Gulch Airstrip, Juniper Air Park, Millican Airstrip, Pineridge Ranch Airstrip, Roberts Field-Redmond Municipal Airport, Saint Charles Medical Center Heliport, Sisters Eagle Air, and Sunriver Airport.
Bend Municipal Airport was built in 1942 as a result of an immediate need across the western states for training sites for aviators for the war. Bend Municipal Airport Facilities include a single runway, 5005 feet in length, and a corresponding full parallel taxiway. This High Activity Business and General Aviation airport has roughly 170 aircraft and over 40,000 annual operations. Sixteen aviation related businesses are located on the airport and more than 700 people are employed.
Roberts Field-Redmond Municipal Airport holds 167 operations a day with 42% being local general aviation, 29% transient general aviation, and 12% being commercial. Roberts Field Airport has 84 Single engine airplanes, 28 Multi engine airplanes, 3 Jet airplanes, and 1 helicopter. This Airport owned and operated by the City of Redmond for the tri-county area. It is the commercial service airport for Central Oregon and also serves air cargo and general aviation. It is home to the U.S.D.A.
