Deschutes County has four main Humane Society and they are the following: Bend Animal Control, Redmond Humane Society, Redmond Animal Control, and The Humane Society of Redmond.

The Humane Society of Redmond staff handles all types of animals entrusted in their care. Potential candidates must go through a screening process and once they meet the requirements the pet must be spayed or neutered. Adoptions fees include $55 for cats $75-$100 for dogs and puppies. Adoption fees include free vet health check, spay/neuter surgery, first vaccinations, sample kit, valuable information, leash or carrier, micro-chip, collar with identification, and 30 days pet insurance. The Humane Society of Redmond also offers Communal Cremation and Private Cremation.
