Deschutes County Community College is Central Oregon Community College. COCC was founded in 1949 and its Bend’s compass consist of 193 acres. The College has 92 full-time faculty members, 33 adjunct faculty, and 200 part-time instructors. Approximately 50% of COCC professors have PhDs. Classes are kept small with an average of 24 students.

Nearly 7,000 students enrolled in credit classes at COCC last year. Each quarter, approximately 1,600 full-time and 2,400 part-time students enroll. While half of the students are under the age of 25, another quarter are over 35. Its campus contains a 72,000-square-foot library and 22 buildings with a total of 423,982 square feet under roof. Central Oregon Community College is fully accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.

Central Oregon Community College offers over 25 certificate and associate of applied science degree in the following areas: Addictions Studies, Apprenticeship/Industrial Technology, Automotive Technology, Aviation, Business Administration, Computer and Information Systems, Criminal Justice, Juvenile Corrections, Culinary, Drafting Technology/Computer Aided Drafting & Design, Early Childhood Education, Emergency Medical Services, Forest Resources Technology, Geographic Information Systems, Dental Assisting, Pre-Dental Hygiene, Dietary Managers, Health Information Technology, Massage Therapy, Medical Assisting, and Nursing.
